Specialising in pile, raft and pad foundations, reinforced concrete structures, blockworks, screeding-plastering. Other work scope in the package includes decommissioning, steel frame structure, surface and underground drainage system, landscaping and access roads, marking and signs.
Also is the electrical, mechanical and ventilation system installation. Consulting Engineer at ABInBev (2020-08 – Present)
ABInBev Brewery Upgrade-Restoration Works – Brownfield brewery upgrade - $2.0m. Oversaw the decommissioning and installation of two new automated lines for bottle washing and beer production. Also demolition of existing slab and re-construction covering about 2000m2 area.
Work scope also include mechanical and electrical installations like distribution panels, cablings, transformers, HVAC and fire fighting installations. As the consulting engineer on the project, was interfacing with the client and sub-contractors responsible for different work packages. Overseeing clients contractual obligations, procurement schedule, quality and safe delivery of equipment's for installation.
Was responsible for entire construction management concerns. Managed complex technical challenges during design review meetings to accommodate cost saving measures and constructability issues. Mitigating schedule delays due to delays in arrival of critical material components and other items on the critical path.
Project Manager at Hampton Row (2020-02 – Present)
Hampton Row Residential Project - Construction of 5-bedroom terrace with penthouse - $2.5m. Helped to manage the architectural and civil/structural design of the project. Pile foundation, 600mm diameter and 18m deep, and about 109 in numbers.
Pile integrity and loading test, pile cap, connecting beams, starter bars for column and floor slab 250mm thick. Other structural components are the reinforced concrete columns, slabs, stairwell, lift shaft walls, suspended slab, blockwork and roofing. Also were the MEP components installation including the landscaping.
Prepared an off-plan sales template for the project to achieve profitability target. Managed the estimating and tendering process for the different work packages. Supervised the construction management process to deliver the right quality, Interfacing with customers during the work progress to keep them informed of progress, changes and other concerns.
Worked with the client to achieve our profit target and able to deliver to the customers the right quality on schedule.
Project Manager at E'Sorae Shopping Complex (2020-03 – Present)
E'Sorae Shopping Complex - Greenfield project on 5000m2 plot for a shopping mall - $5.0M. Design and build project as the client has already prepared a budget for the works and was responsible for most material procurement. The structure is a reinforced concrete pad foundation, steel frame structure, claddings, roofing sheets, carpark, insulators, air conditioning and interior décor works.
Maximised cost for the client during design reviews by opting for cheaper materials without affecting functionality and quality output. Also adopting cost effective constructability methodology and managing human resource for optimal output. Was able to save about 30% cost on the project from being able to effectively manage the lifting operation of the steel member, by reducing cost of hiring cranes to achieve lifting operation.
Also, a cost-effective pad foundation design with a grade slab which was a modification to original design.
PROJECT MANAGER at MACE MGT. SERVICES (2017-06 – 2019-07)
MACE is a leading UK project management firm in over 30 countries worldwide, and PM for Iconic projects like SHARD, London. Was responsible for projects with multinationals like Deloitte, Citigroup, Unilever by managing the contracts, design and construction management process for the clients. These are conversion of a residential building to commercial banking hall for Citigroup, Fit outs and office partitioning works plus MEP upgrades for Deloitte, and production plant upgrade works comprising of Civil and MEP packages for Unilever.
Was able to carry out every task through proper monitoring and supervision by personally developing a safe system of works (SSOW) for every work packages. We achieved delivery of the project without any shutdown of the production plant That was massive savings for the client. Anticipated and mitigated risk.
Liaised with the client to produce safe, cost-effective solutions.
Project Manager at Unilever (2017-06 – 2019-01)
Unilever plant major upgrade works – $3.5m.
Civil & MEP upgrade works for the food processing plant. Extension of Savoury hygiene production section 450m2 area for Civil and MEP works, new forklift route, automated access controls and extensive external works. A design bid and build through competitive bidding process.
Construction of 90m length by 6m depth retaining wall to secure large tank storage facilities due to earth bearing pressure. Procurement process were through lump sum contract (fixed rate). Was able to put in place a well-structured progress meeting held once a week to capture all relevant stakeholders inputs and concerns both within the business, contractors and sub-contractors for effective management of the project.
This had actionable points, contact person responsible, and timelines to resolve. This also entails design review, quality and safety meetings. Project was successfully executed and delivered without any shutdown to production and no LTI.
Project Manager at Citigroup (2019-01 – 2019-05)
Citigroup Banking Hall (Renovation Project) – $2.37m. Citigroup uses call-off contract for their project execution. 2 Nos banking hall of about 75m2 area were constructed. This is the conversion of existing residential building into a banking hall.
The work packages are; civil, mech, electrical, and I.T infastructures on sub-contract. In liaison with the structural engineers, was able to ensure stability of the structure, due to some removal and extensions required as part of the new design. Was able to deliver the project safely without any lost time injury (LTI).
Savings were made from development cost analysis (planned vs actual). The project was delivered successfully without any incident, as adequate support structures were put in place during demolition of sections and extension of some sections of building. Used development cost template for tracking cost, EMIS software for procurement and Microsoft schedule for timing.
Project Manager at Deloitte (2019-01 – 2019-03)
Deloitte Office fit-outs and interior + Minor MEP works – $0.70m. Use of aluminium claddings and PVC boards for office portioning an area of about 350m2 with fit-outs, access controls and passageway. Upgrade of MEP infrastructure like cabling and I.T facilities.
Use of call-off contract and subcontracting to achieve it. Site management, security and access control were effectively managed. Achieve 100% development cost projection and quality output. Manage successfully access control in and out of a functional busy office space to deliver the project.
Safety and theft was a concern prior to commencement.
