Supervision and management of renal dialysis unit and intensive care unit with focus on patient care quality, equipment maintenance, and critical care management.

• Supervision and delegation of duties to ensure smooth service delivery in the unit

• Perform AV fistula cannulation
• Ensure pre dialysis investigations are retrieved and reviewed before commencing dialysis treatment
• Commence dialysis treatment and monitor the patient closely intra-dialysis
• Ensure every patient get individualized care
• Ensure standard infection control in the dialysis unit
• Ensure periodic preventive maintenance on the dialysis machines to avoid unnecessary breakdown of the machines
• Ensure periodic water treatment to prevent water borne infections
• Ensure patients get quality dialysis treatment on every visit
• Do follow up to monitor patients treatment progress
• Book appointment for patients for their next visit
• Utilize the available resources efficiently
• Ensure the unit is growing and making profits as well

• Work hand in hand with the intensivist
• Assess the patient critical care needs
• Identity patients that will benefit from intensive care management
• Call the attention of the intensivist to the patient for further assessment
• Prepare ventilators for new patients
• Ensure patients with compromised airways get their airways secured, either via intubation or external ventilation mode
• Monitor patients on ventilators
• Drive ionotropic supports to maintain their blood pressure
• Do hourly ventilator charts
• Do Arterial blood gas (ABG) for patients as prescribed by the intensivist
• Do Sustained Low Efficiency dialysis for critical patients with Acute renal injury
• Manage the patient according to medical plan
• Stabilize the patient and transfer to the Ward for further management
