I'm an innovative maintenance personnel member with almost a decade of proven knowledge in equipment commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, maintenance, and computerized maintenance management systems (SAP). Also vast in the use of failure mode effect analysis to evaluate possible failures, condition base monitoring strategies to prevent failures and root cause analysis to avoid incident reoccurrence. Electrical and Instrumentation Technician at Lafarge Africa Plc (2016-08 – Present)

• Carry out maintenance, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance approach to reduce incident stoppages on MV breakers/switch gears, MV transformer, MV and LV motors, VSD, soft starters, relays, earth system, and all electrical equipment and sensors, in a bid to ensuring reliability of the assets.
• Carry out shaft alignment during drive installation.
• Carry out annual transformer oil breakdown voltage test.
• Carry out quarterly earth test on substation and electrical building, to confirm the integrity of the earth system.
• Measure and trend slip ring motors carbon brushes wear rate, air gap distance and brush spring pressure, thereby predicting due date for replacement of the brushes with reference to the running hours.
• Routine audit of PLC interlocks, protection settings on MV breakers REF units, variable speed drives settings and other control loops.
• Perform failure analysis on electrical equipment and create countermeasures for reliability improvement.
• Identifying improvements in the plant electrical systems and recommend improvement plans or upgrades
• A Member of maintenance execution team with troubleshooting of electrical faults
• Energy Isolation LOCKOUT, TAGOUT & TRYOUT, to ensure zero energy state during any maintenance activity in packing plant.
• Performed daily toolbox and ensured that all risk assessment, permit to work, confined space entry form etc., are duly completed and signed before any job is carried out.
• Performed basic maintenance activities throughout the plant as required, in order to maximize equipment operation and minimize downtime.
• Carried out daily routine walk by inspection and report anomalies on equipment in the palletizer plant.
• Monitored equipment operation and carried out basic troubleshooting as required to prevent breakdown and production downtime.
• Calibration of Ventomatic packing machine spouts to reduce high tare weight and ensure reliability of weight
• Performed Input/output (I/O) test on (level, temperature, vibration and pressure) sensors, motor commands, PLC interlocks and visual cut-off switch (VCS).
