• Collect and prepare blood samples and perform laboratory procedures such as FBC, clotting profile, haemoglobin genotype, ABO blood grouping E/U/Cr, LFT, FLP, glucose estimation, uric acid total protein e.t.c used in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases.
• Receive and prepare specimens such as urine, stool, HVS/ECS and perform laboratory procedures used in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases.
• Perform culture and sensitivity on specimens such as urine, stool, HVS, ECS, wound, CSF, sputum for isolation and characterization of pathogens.
• Perform differential cell count, total WBC and platelet count and make general comment on haematology stained slides used in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases.
• Perform semen analysys (SFA) and sperm count used in the diagnosis of fertility.
• Perform malaria microscopy used in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of plasmodium parasitaemia.
• Perform serological testing on widal, HIV, HBsAg, HCV, VDRL and urinalysis used for screening and monitoring of diseases and treatments.
• Verify, record and report laboratory results on all performed tests.
• Ensure that quality controls passed before releasing and issuing results.
• Ensure that turnaround time are met for quick response to patient care.
• Perform quality control on all chemistry reagents as well as calibration of Biomaxima chemistry analyzer and Haematology analyzer.
