I am a graduate of English Literature and have put in over six (6)years of work experience in the development and humanitarian environment which have equipped me with the relevant skills needed for certain position.

At the moment I work with medicine Dumonde in advocacy and campaigns department as community outreach officer. I worked as part of a team to ensure that communities are well informed about the project objectives, activities approach and expected project result through awareness and mobilization.

I worked with MDM as a GBV case where I worked closely with GBV survivors through case managements.

I worked with plan International in Protection department as a roving case worker Borno and yobe State.

I worked with action against hunger as an enumerator under nutrition department, Screening Children (MUAC measurement) to identify the cases of SAM and also to repair the SAM cases to the OPT here in Yobe state. In this regard, I was able to offer nutritional advices to the mothers of children with MAM cases and also coordinate the activities of the team in the designated L.G.A to ensure successful implementation of the program.

I do possess a progressive team spirit, the virtue of resilience in task execution irrespective of harsh or unfriendly terrain and equally maintain a high level of integrity as I carry out my duties.

Department: Information Education Communication 

Position: COMMUNITY OUTREACH OFFICER.

Responsibilities

1. Program activities 

• Design the weekly and monthly activities plan for the Health Education program, in collaboration with the relevant personnel in the program team.
•  Liaise with Nutrition, SRH and PHC colleagues to ensure required aspects of their departments are incorporated into the activities 
• Lead on the management of IEC materials for the Health Education activities, soliciting materials internally and externally from relevant stakeholders 
• Contribute to organize the health education trainings (Health, Immunization, CMAM, IYCF, ANC, PNC and FP). 
• Responsible for counselling individuals, groups, families, and/or communities regarding issues including Mental Health, GBV, Nutrition and Sexual Reproductive Health. 
• Provide on-the-job training to the community mobilisers on the field. 
• Organize regular meeting with the community leaders 
• Together with other medical staff contribute in the development and designing of the new tools in case of needs 
• Ensure that all materials given are well managed 
• Responsible for organizing referrals from community to the health facilities

1. Team management 

• Manage the schedule of the community Mobilisers and submit the plan for the coming week to the Health Program Manager for approval.
• Conduct weekly meeting for all Community Mobilisers ensuring timely feedback from their field activities reaches the senior management.
• Follow up and ensure the presence of each community mobiliser in the field. 
• Ensure that every community mobiliser follow their job description.
• Contribute to managing the misunderstanding between community leaders.

1. Reporting and attendance to different meetings

• Attend the program weekly meeting.
• In case of need, attend to the meetings requested by the Health Program Manager.
• Write the minutes of meetings. 
• Share all issues noticed in the field with the Medical Supervisors and to the Health Program Manager.
• Contribute to the weekly and monthly health education data analysis and provide regularly the weekly program report.

Position: GBV Social Worker

Responsibilities

• Provide survivor-centered case-management to GBV clients and MHPSS patients with protection needs:
• Provide holistic assessment of clients’ needs and develop individualized care plans for each client.
• Provide GBV counseling using a survivor-centered approach and other adequate GBV counseling principles.
• Provide GBV psycho education to clients as well as other key information regarding MDM services and other services available in the community.
• Provide internal and external referrals and follow-up services to clients according to their needs.
• Support clients to navigate complex administrative systems and advocate on their behalf with healthcare, police and security forces, the legal and justice system, and other services as required;
• Ensure services being provided to clients are well coordinated at every level and with every other service provider.
• Identify and respond to clients’ arising needs and work in very close collaboration with the MHPSS and PHC teams to ensure clients’ psycho-social support and other needs are well met.
• Ensure all work with clients is confidential and that ethical practices are observed in culturally appropriate way, especially with respect to gender sensitivities
• Keep accurate and up-to date records:
• Record all interventions with clients through the drafting of timely and well-written session notes.
• Maintain complete and safely kept client files.
• Periodically assess progress of individual cases and proceed to closing cases when appropriate and in collaboration with client.
• Support MDM community mobilizes and MDM local partner in conducting awareness raising on GBV risks / consequences and PSS related issues and MDM’s services
• Provide and facilitate psycho-social support activities for the IDP community and host population, with focus on delivering GBV specific PSS services at the clinics and community level.
• Plan and conduct group activities for GBV survivors and other women that focus on support groups, sessions with children, group’s discussion, and community reintegration; using participatory methods adapted activities in accordance to the needs of the different target groups (children, women, etc.);

• Build the staff capacity to provide direct meaningful support to GBV survivors, mentor, supervise and monitor team activities and ensure effective coordination and networking system establishment to the rest of child protection team.

Position: Gender Based Violence (GBV) Case Worker

Responsibilities:

• Assisted in the supervision, monitoring and reporting of Social Workers working on the field;
• Mobilized and trained community members and outreach workers for prevention of family separation and GBV, awareness on GBV causes and consequences and safe and ethical referral for care;
• Conducted training with the GBV and CP team for teachers and community health workers on basic emotional support, providing a supportive environment, safe and ethical referral of cases;

• Worked with community leaders and committees to identify beneficiaries who will be registered and enrolled on the program at hand using structured form on kobo;
• Conducted baseline survey for selected beneficiaries using structured questionnaire on kobo platform;
• Ensured community leaders and committees are sensitized on voucher system and entitlement from the program;
• Registered beneficiaries who are eligible to receive assistance, both food assistance.
