My name is Joseph Chijindu Wilfred, a graduate of Enugu State University of Science and Technology with CGPA of 3.09 in Computer Engineering. I believe Graphics Design is constantly around us, and understanding how to communicate in a visual manner has pushed me to study more about the topic. The words ‘create’ and ‘design’ have always created a feeling of energy and pleasure inside me. From an early age I have always had a creative tendency which I believe is my most prominent glow. For many years I have liked creating logos, symbols, packaging and coming up with innovative advertising ideas thus leading me to a realization that Graphics Design is something that I’m pushed towards. I have obtained an interest and range of information about many different graphics designers and their works have encouraged me to strengthen my own talents and have given me an insight as to how to construct a creative mind-set.

Having worked with different companies from Communications, Churches, schools, PR, printing agency, Film and Graphic Design Departments at Geffka Designs on work experience, I was able to explore different ways of communicating my designs both through social media, motion graphics, film and print designs. I must tell that I absolutely liked my time all this time.

As I started to find where my heart lay, I took on freelance employment to help foster my abilities and create a name. The bulk of my work has been producing logos, posters, social media graphics and banners. This has enabled me to work with a variety of demographics and get substantial understanding of the design process from the customer’s vision to the completed product. Freelancing has also helped me to build my abilities in communication and learn how to balance the customers’ demands against my own suggestions and experience.

While I appreciate my present freelancing job, I aim to break into the wider market and work with worldwide firms and help produce products that will become renowned throughout the globe. The coaching and education that you give on your User experience Design Masters course will help me learn to enhance my abilities in design software and effective visual production. Moreover, I look forward to working with fresh and fascinating briefs that will better emulate the business I am seeking to join.

I received my Bachelor degree in the Computer Engineering from Enugu State University of Science & Technology (ESUT) (ESUT). This institution is one of the top famous in the area of technology here. At the same time, I started working outside of school as a designer in an effort to apply the principles gained in the both classroom and experience to create practical expertise in creating. I obtained great results in the classes and acquired substantial experience portfolios and research technique. In addition, the courses tended to involve a significant degree of group work, and I was lucky to strengthen my leadership abilities at this period. Perhaps one of the most useful components of my schooling was the ability to build these talents and learn to communicate and mutually develop ideas with others.

I have subsequently handled different advanced positions like Senior Graphic Designer, Brand and Content manager, Product designer, animator, web designer at different firms like; Glowhite industries, Smobile Net zone Limited, Half cast, Em-web Digital Solutions where, as the top designer in the company, I had much flexibility and responsibility for designing and communicating with clients. In the last four years, I have developed management and communication talents, and I believe that my capacity of interacting with clients and developing designs to fit their criteria is one of the most vital responsibilities done by a professional designer.

Although having years of expertise in design, I have realized that strong design abilities alone are inadequate for attaining my aims. It is also vital to have managerial and leadership talents, as well as a grasp of multinational cultures and markets. Perhaps most significantly, designers must have a grasp of how to effectively sell and advertise their work.

In this manner, designers are different from painters; designers must be capable of integrating and comprehending the demands of customers, since the creation of brand image is more vital. With solid ideas and considerable preparation, it is feasible to provide high quality work while meeting and even surpassing customers’ demands.
