UX Researcher - Kegow (Chamsmobile)

• Conduct end-to-end UX research on Chamsmobile's fintech app, planning and facilitating in-depth interviews and usability tests directly with customers across onboarding, transfers, and bill-payment journeys.
• Lead structured app testing ahead of releases, working session by session through core flows to surface usability bugs and points of confusion, then logging and prioritising findings with product and engineering.
• Found that customers were abandoning identity verification (BVN/KYC) midway through sign-up; traced the drop-off to unclear error messages and a form asking for too much at once, then proposed splitting the flow into shorter steps with plain-language error states adopted by the design team to reduce verification abandonment.
• Noticed through interviews that customers didn't trust the app's savings feature because they couldn't tell where their money was locked or when it would be released; recommended a clearer status indicator and confirmation summary, which the product team built into the next release.
• Ran moderated usability sessions on the transfer flow and identified a recurring point of hesitation where customers weren't sure a payment had gone through; the fix an explicit success state with transaction reference came directly out of this research.
• Synthesise interview and testing data into journey maps and thematic summaries, presenting findings to design and product stakeholders in formats they can act on immediately.
• Maintain the team's research repository, tagging and organising past studies so findings stay searchable and reusable, cutting down on repeat research requests.
