Malong Alexander

A graduate Aerospace Engineer with a solid foundation in aircraft design, structural analysis, and computational simulation. I am currently a Graduate Intern at Aero Contractors Company of Nigeria, Lagos, gaining hands-on experience in sheet metal maintenance and aircraft wheel overhaul workshop operations. I Gained practical experience at the Nigerian Police Airwing and the Central Avionics Overhaul and Calibration Center supporting aircraft inspection, maintenance, and avionics troubleshooting.

I am committed to applying engineering principles to improve the safety, performance, and reliability of aerospace systems. I am skilled in using LS-DYNA, SolidWorks, CATIA, CF-Turbo, and MATLAB for 3D modelling, finite element analysis, and performance evaluation. Completed a research project titled "Impact Analysis of Bird Strike on Aircraft Engine Fan," involving high-velocity impact simulation using Smooth Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) to assess material response and blade integrity under extreme conditions.

Intern at Central Avionics Overhaul and Calibration Center, Nigerian Air Force Base (2023-07 – 2023-09)

• Assisted in the inspection, testing, and calibration of aircraft avionics systems under the supervision of senior engineers.
• Participated in diagnosing and repairing Aircraft Ground Power Units (GPUs).
• Involved in troubleshooting the Alpha Jet and Dornier 228 voltage regulators using a voltage regulator test bench.
• Observed coordination between avionics and airframe units, gaining insight into integrated aircraft maintenance and operational workflows.

Intern at Nigerian Police Airwing, Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (2024-04 – 2024-10)

• Assisted in routine inspections and servicing of Bell 412 helicopters, including pre-flight, 12-hour, 25-hour, 600-hour, and post-flight checks.
• Supported engineers in troubleshooting avionics, hydraulic, and propulsion system faults during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
• Assisted with compressor washes, rotor tracking and balancing, and replacement of defective components.
• Participated in greasing and repacking of the 45-degree and intermediate gearboxes.
• Managed tools and maintenance documentation while adhering to standard aircraft safety procedures.
• Developed working knowledge of aircraft maintenance manuals and applied them during maintenance tasks.

Graduate Intern at Aero Contractors Company of Nigeria, Murtala Muhammed International Airport (2026-04 – Present)

• Assisted with routine workshop activities, including tool preparation, toolbox management, and housekeeping.
• Supported sheet metal maintenance tasks under the supervision of experienced maintenance personnel.
• Assisted with drilling, riveting, and related preparation activities during aircraft structural maintenance.
• Maintained a clean and organized work area and ensured tools were properly prepared and available for maintenance tasks.
