- Operating the crane: Lift, move, and place materials, equipment, or structures according to signaling instructions and load plans. Control levers, pedals, and switches to maneuver the boom, jib, and hoist with precision.
- Load handling & rigging Verify that rigging gear like slings, shackles, and chains are properly attached and rated for the load. Ensure loads are secured and balanced before lifting. Position loads accurately at the designated drop-off point without swinging or dragging.
- Maintenance & documentation Perform basic maintenance like lubrication and report mechanical issues immediately. Keep a log book of crane operations, inspections, and any incidents.
