The study was conducted to assess the waste management and waste disposal practices among residents in Abeokuta Ogun State. The study uses a descriptive survey research design to collect data from the respondents. 400 participants were sampled for this study and a self-structured questionnaire was used as the instrument for data collection. The questionnaire consisted of socio-demographic section; methods of solid waste collection in Abeokuta Ogun State, key challenges and constraints faced in waste management practices among residents in Abeokuta Ogun State and transport techniques/systems of solid waste in Abeokuta Ogun State.
Findings shows that Refuse bins/drums are the frequent use Methods of solid waste collection in Abeokuta Ogun State with the frequency of 50.0%. The study concluded that Majority of the resident engage in waste disposal practices and a proper waste management policy should be formulated and implemented.
