Isiodu A graduate of optometry in flying colours from Imo State University
(2007), Dr.
Isiodu, is an astute administrator, a reputed public health speaker, a pioneer leader and a primary health care promoter, and a fast - rising optometrist of high repute.
Dr. Oluchi, has experience and expertise spanning over 15 years in the practice of optometry both in the private and public sectors. She has in no small way strengthen delivery and increase access to eye care services to a good number of children, women,
youths, the elderly and other segments of the Nigerian populace, both in rural and urban areas, through her strategic engagements and participations in several intervention programmes aimed at promoting quality eye care delivery in Nigeria.
Consequent upon her extra ordinary commitment to the profession and practice of optometry in her immediate space, Dr. Oluchi was appointed to lead and coordinate the
New N.O.A Imo Project. Her display of character, ingenuity and dynamism in the assignment, impacted significantly both on the perception and performance of N.O.A Imo.
As a pace setter leader, Dr. Oluchi has on several notes been saddled with different forms of leadership responsibilities in N.O.A and beyond,
nationally and locally.As an active member of Women Optometrists in Nigeria (W.O.N), Dr.
Oluchi has contributed immensely to the progress and development of the association. Thus in 2015, she was unanimously elected
Chairperson, W.O.N, Imo State chapter. Among the notable things she did as Imo State W.O.N Chairperson, was to make W.O.N more visible and relevant before the government by building a win – win working relationships with relevant government ministries in Imo State and beyond. It is against this background that Her Excellency, Wife of the
Executive Governor of Imo State, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha, featured her as one of the guest speakers in 2017 International Women Day held on March 8. Impressively, her speech presentation became acclaimed as the hallmark speech of the occasion, which today still resonates as a landmark speech.
Equally, Dr. Oluchi is a CSR coordinator, Imo State, and through her leadership positions, she has been able to successfully broker partnership between Advocacy Committee N.O.A Imo State and
National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), which resulted to the training of 25 optometrists from Imo State, by Institute for Health
Insurance and Managed Care of Nigeria. And today, the training coverage has expanded to the whole of South East.
As a seasoned administrator, Dr Oluchi holds a professional certificate in Business Management and Entrepreneurship from Sean Cussons
Business School (2013), and currently, she is serving as the Chief
Executive Officer (CEO) of Umezuruike Eye Clinic, Owerri, Imo state; a platform she has used to provide meaningful employment.
Dr. Oluchi has successfully undergone several professional certifications both in areas of her career specialization (optometry) and other related and relevant fields like HSE 1,2&3, PMP, HRM, BUSINESS MANAGEMENT, CIMC, FIHIMN amongst others.
Interestingly and unusual, Dr. Oluchi had her primary education at 3
different schools namely; Tender Touch Nursery and Primary School,
Loral Nursery and Primary School and Radiance Nursery and Primary
School , all at FESTAC Lagos, between 1985 and 1991. Thereafter, she proceeded to Federal Government Girls College Benin, and later moved to Mason College FESTAC Lagos, where she completed her secondary education, and obtained Senior School Certificate Examination (S.S.C.E)
in 1998.
In 2001, sequel to her impressive academic performance at O’ Level,
Dr. Oluchi was granted provisional undergraduate admission into the
Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Imo State University Owerri,
to study Optometry. In 2007 she graduated honourably with Doctor of Optometry(OD) to her credit.
