My name is Ozigis Oyiza,I'm 20 years old, I'm a graduate of Landmark University, Kwara State BSc Microbiology. I'm currently doing my National Youth Service program at National Emergency Management Agency in Abuja Nigeria.
I am interested in pursuing a career in the healthcare field because I believe it is an excellent match for my personal strengths and interests. I have always been a dedicated student, which I know is a necessary quality if I want to succeed in this competitive field. In addition, I am a strong communicator and I believe that I have the physical and mental abilities necessary to handle the pressure of any healthcare job.
What's more, I am inspired by the healthcare workers in my family who have made significant contributions to our local community, and I hope to follow in their footsteps as a role model for others.
I know how to communicate effectively with coworkers and patients in a way that information is being passed effectively; I have a very positive attitude towards work which helps me see the positive side of every situation; May I also mention my effective planning skills which helps in management of time in other to meet up with deadlines without redundancy.
During my internship at Cedarcrests Hospital Apo, Abuja, I had the opportunity to work with highly skilled healthcare professionals for six months. I learned a lot about laboratory procedures, including the uses and functions of various sample bottles, different types of equipment, and the tests they perform. It was an enriching experience, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with such knowledgeable individuals.
As a microbiologist, I am responsible for a variety of tasks such as collecting samples from different locations, growing microbe cultures, and testing samples to diagnose infections and track the spread of disease. I also inspect food and drink to check for possible contamination and plan and carry out trials to develop new pharmaceutical products, vaccines, and medicines. Additionally, I record, analyze and interpret data, write research papers, reports, and reviews, and keep up to date with scientific and research developments.
Accuracy is key, so I ensure that data is recorded accurately in accordance with guidelines. As a laboratory manager, I am always on top of things to make sure everything runs smoothly.
