Richard holds a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) degree from the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, and an Associate of Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (AMLSCN). He has over thirteen (13) years of experience in Medical Laboratory practice, coordinating supply chain management for Laboratory Reagents, training, and providing technical assistance to health personnel on Laboratory activities, Lab QMS application, as well as validating and analyzing laboratory results. He is endowed with good organizational and leadership skills.
He has the ability to work with little or no supervision using initiative. He is innovative, friendly, meticulous, and a good team player, with a strong passion for Health Systems strengthening in the tropics. He can adapt effectively in resource-limited settings and as well always willing to take up new and challenging tasks.

Richard is a Chief Medical Laboratory Scientist with Federal Medical Centre Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, which involves overall leadership and supervision for Medical Laboratory Scientists, Interns, National Youth Service Corps Members, and Students in the Medical Laboratory Department, ensuring maintenance of quality control and standards in laboratory services, budgeting and requisition of laboratory equipment, reagents and consumables, development of laboratory guidelines, tools, SOPs, manuals, and policy, carrying out various diagnostics services such as Haematology, Microbiology, Chemical Pathology, Blood transfusion science, Histopathology, Cytology, Histochemistry, etc., carrying out quarterly laboratory internal audits. He has also worked with Our Lady of Apostles Hospital, Jos, Plateau State, as a Medical Laboratory Scientist with responsibilities which included HIV testing and reporting, provision of ART monitoring test services such haematology test using Sysmex KX2IN) and CD4 analysis using BD facscount), Quality Control of laboratory tests, participation in the analysis of external quality assurance/proficiency testing samples and reporting, the performance of routine clinical laboratory investigations, coordinating the inventory and logistics management of commodities and expires in the facility, preparation, validation, and submission of laboratory bimonthly LMIS reports for RTKs, reagents/accessories, and laboratory consumables, preparation and submission of Laboratory Monthly Summary Forms to APIN.
He has attended several pieces of training on HIV/AIDS and TB laboratory services and monitoring tests, Logistics management, etc.
