Taiwo Ajayi

I am a graduate of Maritime Academy of Nigeria and an aspiring Logistics and business manager with over 3 years experience in the maritime sector, and management of port schedule, berth arrangements with knowledge and skills on port management, business management and port security and personnel roles.

I worked with two maritime companies, the NNPC and the Nigeria Ports Authority. NNPC is a company that was responsible for harnessing Nigeria's oil for sustainable development, while at NNPC, I met with so many petroleum marketers and I was able to manage them regardless of the kind of attitude portrayed by them. I also came up with a template to prepare reports on the amount of bunker consumed daily by shuttle vessels, prepare monthly performance sheet of vessels, which enabled the management in their effective decision making.

Working with NPA, a company that has ownership and administration of the water and vessels within port limits and development of ports infrastructure, I attended berthing meetings every morning where the ETD and ETA of vessels are discussed and berthing space are being allocated to these vesselswhich improved my interpersonal skill, I learnt how to prepare vessels ahead for their berthing, loading, and offloading of cargoes.
