Takon Ojong

A Registered Nurse with 7+years of experience and a Registered Perioperative Nurse with over 14 years of experience currently working in the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital as a Senior Nursing Officer.

I am passionate about patient care and willing to make the necessary sacrifices to ensure their welfare. I am especially good with surgical Machines and equipment even if I have never worked with them before, especially in Trauma and Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery/ Spine procedures and endoscopy.

1.  I am currently an employee of the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital since November 2012.Have playe various roles in the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital Gwagwalada. I have been a student affairs officer for several years, which has helped me teach various categories of students. I have also mentore over 20 students and counting in my career. I have been privileged to work as a COVID-19 front line worker. I am one of the members of the team that separated the first conjoined twin in my hospital. I have been a member of the Theatre Continuing Education Committee for several years now. Currently, Theatre Manager of Infectious Disease Centre, University of Abuja Teaching Hospital. Infection Prevention and Control Change Agent of the hospital. Have been involved in various Surgical procedures as a scrub Nurse and as a First assistant. Have volunteered in various Pro-Health projects. The roles I have played in my career are too numerous to mention. 

• Cross River State Ministry of Health. Employed as a general Nurse practitioner and after training, as a Perioperative Nurse from January 2001 to April 2010.
