• Inspection of Construction Works: Inspect ongoing site activities before, during, and after execution. Ensure work complies with approved drawings and specifications. Check workmanship quality for concrete, reinforcement, blockwork, plastering, finishing, etc.
• Material Quality Control: Verify that delivered materials meet project specifications. Inspect cement, reinforcement bars, aggregates, blocks, waterproofing materials, tiles, paints, etc. Reject damaged or substandard materials.
• Request for Inspection (RFI): Raise or receive RFIs for completed work stages. Coordinate inspections with consultants/clients before proceeding to the next activity.
• Concrete and Structural Quality Checks: Check reinforcement spacing, cover, lapping, anchorage, and bar diameter. Inspect formwork alignment and dimensions. Supervise concrete pouring and ensure proper vibration and curing. Monitor slump tests and cube tests.
• Documentation and Records: Maintain QA/QC records and reports. Prepare inspection reports, daily quality reports, snag lists, and test records. Keep copies of approved drawings and method statements.
• Non-Conformance Control: Identify defective works or deviations. Raise NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) when standards are not met. Follow up on corrective actions.
• Method Statements and ITPs: Review or prepare Method Statements and Inspection Test Plans (ITP). Ensure construction activities follow approved procedures.
• Coordination with Site Team: Work closely with site engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and foremen. Advise site workers on correct procedures and quality standards.
• Finishing and Snagging Inspection: Inspect finishing works such as painting, tiling, ceilings, doors, and windows. Prepare snag lists and ensure defects are corrected before handover.
• Compliance with Standards: Ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and standards such as: BS Standards, ASTM, ACI, Nigerian building regulations.
