Cloud Native Software Engineer

As a Cloud Native Software Engineer<\/b>, you will contribute to the development of a modern integration platform that bridges operational technology (OT) and IT systems. This platform supports mission -critical infrastructure and is part of a broader transformation program focused on building a future -proof control room environment.

<\/p>You’ll work in a cross -functional team responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable, secure, and observable backend services using modern cloud -native technologies.

Your Responsibilities<\/b>

<\/h3>

• Develop and maintain backend applications in Java<\/b> or Python<\/b>, with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability.

  <\/li>

• Containerize workloads and deploy them to Kubernetes<\/b> clusters using best practices for CI/CD, monitoring, and fault tolerance.

  <\/li>

• Ensure high test coverage through unit, integration, and system testing.

  <\/li>

• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a focus on root cause analysis and sustainable fixes.

  <\/li>

• Continuously improve codebases, pipelines, and team practices.

  <\/li>

• Actively participate in design discussions, code reviews, and knowledge -sharing sessions.

  <\/li>

• Join an on -call rotation (approx. once every two months) to support critical systems outside business hours.

  What You Bring<\/b>

  <\/h3>Required:<\/b>

  <\/p>

  • Proven experience developing production -grade backend applications in Java<\/b> or Python<\/b>

    <\/li>

  • Solid understanding of cloud -native architectures<\/b>, microservices<\/b>, and distributed systems<\/b>

    <\/li>

  • Hands -on experience deploying containerized applications in Kubernetes<\/b> environments

    <\/li>

  • Proficiency with Apache Kafka<\/b> and stream processing concepts

    <\/li>

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines<\/b> and tools such as ArgoCD, Terraform, Tekton, or GitHub Actions

    <\/li>

  • Experience with DevOps practices<\/b> like GitOps, observability, and auto -scaling

    <\/li>

  • Knowledge of cloud object storage<\/b> (e.g. MinIO, S3) and modern databases (e.g. MongoDB, PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB)

  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English

    <\/li><\/ul>Preferred:<\/b>

    <\/p>

    • Experience with stream processing frameworks such as Apache Flink<\/b>, Kafka Streams<\/b>, or Apache Beam<\/b>

      <\/li>

    • Background in data -intensive applications<\/b>, including time -series data or real -time analytics

      <\/li>

    • Experience writing technical documentation and contributing to team standards

      <\/li>

    • Familiarity with agile methodologies and working in cross -functional teams

      <\/li>

    • Dutch or German language skills are a plus
