Java Developer

Java/Kotlin Developer - €11,500–€12,000 gross/month

I’m working with a stable organisation in the Dutch utilities sector that is currently modernising some of its core systems. They’re looking for an experienced Java/Kotlin Developer to join the team. You’ll be working on a greenfield project, helping move from a legacy monolithic application towards modern microservices using Event-Driven Architecture and Domain-Driven Design.

What you’ll be doing

• Develop new functionality using Java and Kotlin
• Build and improve microservices
• Work with Kafka, Spring Boot and PostgreSQL
• Design, test and deploy your own solutions
• Work closely with Product Owners, architects and other developers
• Help improve the way the team works and the technology they use

What they’re looking for

• 5+ years of experience as a Software/Java Developer
• Strong Java experience
• At least 2 years of Kotlin
• Experience with Spring Boot, Kafka and PostgreSQL
• Good understanding of DDD and Event-Driven Architecture
• Comfortable working in an Agile environment
• Someone who enjoys working as part of a team and can communicate well with both technical and business stakeholders

• SAFe
• Greenfield development
• Experience in the utilities sector
