As autonomous robots (delivery fleets, cleaning pods, humanoids) enter Grade-A real estate, they create a massive life-safety liability: they cannot safely interface with legacy elevators or fire alarm systems. Protocol Infrastructure solves this by building the "Stripe" of the physical world. We deploy edge-compute gateways that bridge modern robotics with legacy Building Management Systems (BMS), transforming vertical cores into programmable, safe, and billable infrastructure.

The Role

We are looking for a Lead Systems Integrator (Field Lead) to own the physical build-out and site-level integration of our edge node, the Gateway-01. You are the bridge between our software architecture and the mechanical reality of the building. You aren't just a technician; you are the hands-on lead ensuring that when our software triggers a life-safety override, the physical relays snap into place flawlessly.

In this role, you will:

• Assemble and wire our industrial Gateway-01 units (OnLogic Karbon hardware, Teltonika routing, SIL-3 safety relays) into NEMA-rated enclosures.
• Lead the physical site deployments in high-density environments (Grade-A office towers, luxury hotels), interfacing directly with legacy elevator controllers and fire panels.
• Audit legacy 24V/electrical systems to identify intercept points without disrupting live building operations.
• Guarantee the physical integrity of the hardware—managing grounding, thermal load, and shielding to ensure survival in harsh machine-room environments.
• Write the physical deployment playbook that our external Tier-1 contractor network will follow.

Requirements

• 3 years of high-stakes field engineering experience (BMS, Elevator Systems, Fire & Life-Safety, or Industrial Power/Data Centers).
• Expert-level capability in wiring industrial control panels, DIN-rail mounting, 24V DC routing, and relay logic.
• Deep, practical understanding of electrical safety protocols and mechanical fail-safes (SIL-rated environments are a major plus).
• You thrive in the field, not just behind a desk, and have the grit to troubleshoot complex legacy wiring under pressure.
