Project Manager Structural
Functieomschrijving
Keeping everything on track
Giving an existing building a completely new purpose? Or designing a complex steel structure for a new building? As a Structural Engineering Project Manager at Iv, you'll work on a wide variety of structural engineering challenges. Leading a team of structural engineers and modellers, you'll ensure that each project has the right technical design and runs smoothly from start to finish.Having worked as a structural engineer yourself, you understand the challenges your colleagues face. You'll draw on your technical expertise to help develop practical solutions, make informed decisions and support your team. At the same time, you'll keep a close eye on schedules, costs and quality. You'll coordinate with other disciplines and make sure everyone has the information they need, when they need it.
You'll be equally comfortable working directly with clients. You'll discuss project challenges, help determine the best approach and identify new opportunities. One project might involve a commercial or public building, while the next could focus on an existing structure, the energy transition or an assignment for a regional water authority. This variety keeps the work interesting. You'll also have the opportunity to bring in new projects and contribute to the development of the department.
In Delft, you'll work alongside thirteen structural engineers and modellers as part of a larger department of around 80 colleagues. The atmosphere is informal, with open communication and little hierarchy. If you need help with something, you can simply walk over to a colleague.
And if you have a good idea for improving the way a project is delivered or helping the department move forward, you'll have the freedom to put it into practice. You'll have plenty of scope to shape your role. You'll mainly be based in Delft, with the option of working part of the time from Papendrecht or Almere.
