Senior Python Developer with VBA Skills

• Type of Cooperation: Contract / Freelance (B2B)
• Daily Rate: up to €600 / day
• Location: The Hague, Netherlands / Nearsite (Onsite & Remote as per specifications)
• Start Date: October 2026 (latest start December 2026)
• Initial Duration: 8 months (160 working days, with optional extensions up to July 2029)
• Security Clearance: CONFIDENTIEL UE / EU CONFIDENTIAL (Certificate of good conduct < 3 months required)

Key Responsibilities:

• Python Development: Develop web solutions and automation scripts using Python.
• VBA Development & Migration: Write, debug, and maintain complex VBA applications (Microsoft Access and Excel), and contribute to migrating Access-based solutions to SQL Server and modern technologies.
• Data Engineering & ETL: Execute ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes on complex datasets.
• Business Intelligence & Reporting: Design and build advanced dashboards, data models, and visualizations using Microsoft Power BI to support operational analysis.
• Technical Collaboration: Liaise with other technical teams to push new features and updates to production environment.
• Documentation & Security: Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation while ensuring secure coding practices, logging, and auditing standards.

Mandatory Technical Skills:

• Python: Proficiency with Python and frameworks for web development, data manipulation, and automation.
• VBA: Proficiency with VBA applications (Excel, Access), including scripting for automation, data import/export, and pre-processing utilities.
• Database & ETL: Solid knowledge of relational database development (MS SQL Server, T-SQL, schema design, stored procedures, query optimization) and ETL tools (SSIS, Power Query, Neo4j utilities).
• Power BI: Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI (DAX, data modelling, interactive reporting, dashboards).
• Full Stack Architecture: Good knowledge of designing, documenting, and developing full-stack solutions.
• Application Security: Working knowledge of authentication and authorization standards (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect) and secure coding practices.
• DevOps & Agile: Experience with Agile methodologies and Azure DevOps (backlog management, CI/CD pipelines, source control) alongside Git version control.
• Containerization: Good working knowledge of Docker.
