About the job Python & Generative AI Developer-10904497Python & Generative AI Developer Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands Start Date: 31 August 2026 Duration: 6 months Employment Type: Contract Role Overview We are looking for a Python & Generative AI Developer to join a team working on AI-driven, search, and information retrieval solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong Python development experience combined with practical knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, Machine Learning, NLP, or search technologies.

Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain software solutions using Python. Design and implement AI, Machine Learning, NLP, and search-related applications. Build and integrate solutions using LLMs, Generative AI, and RAG.

Apply search and information retrieval concepts to develop intelligent solutions. Work with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP. Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.

Follow software engineering best practices, including version control, testing, and Agile methodologies. Analyse technical challenges and develop effective, scalable solutions. Contribute to continuous improvement of AI and software development practices.

Required Skills & Experience 2–5 years of hands-on experience in Python software engineering or AI engineering. Strong programming skills in Python. Practical experience with AI, Machine Learning, NLP, or Search-related applications.

Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). Knowledge of search technologies and information retrieval concepts.

Experience with at least one major cloud platform: Azure, AWS, or GCP. Familiarity with data engineering and machine learning frameworks. Understanding of software development best practices, version control, and Agile methodologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities. Dutch language proficiency at B1 level or higher, or native Dutch. Willingness and availability to work onsite in the Netherlands.
