The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer RiskShield, you will build and maintain business-critical screening systems that protect millions of transactions against money laundering, fraud and sanctions violations.

You will work within the bank's Financial Crime domain, developing and managing screening solutions using Python, SQL and INFORM's RiskShield platform. Your technical contribution will help ensure that the bank remains secure, compliant and prepared for the future.

Your Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Python applications and SQL processes for customer and transaction screening.
• Integrate RiskShield with internal and external data sources.
• Optimise the associated technical infrastructure.
• Develop detection rules for transaction screening, sanctions screening and customer screening.
• Translate AML, KYC and sanctions requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Work closely with Compliance, KYC Analysts, Product Owners and Architects to improve screening processes.
• Contribute proactively to the continuous improvement of systems and technical processes.

Candidate Profile

You are analytically strong and capable of independently handling complex technical challenges within a regulated environment. You communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders and proactively contribute to improving systems and processes.

Requirements:

• HBO or university-level working and thinking ability, preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a comparable discipline.
• At least 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Backend Developer or Data Engineer.
• Strong Python development skills.
• Extensive experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Experience working in Linux environments.
• Experience with API integrations.
• Experience developing or maintaining data-processing pipelines.
• Experience within the financial sector or another regulated environment.
• Affinity with or experience in AML, KYC or sanctions screening is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Availability for the full requested assignment period.
