I have been working remotely for University Health Network (UHN) in Toronto as a Senior Research Agreements Specialist, a role focused on contract management and negotiation, and now am looking for a role in the Netherlands that allows me to further build on this experience in an international research environment.

At UHN, I had the opportunity to work on a wide variety of legal matters for a network of four hospitals. In my position, I provided counsel and support in connection with a range of contract activities, including drafting and reviewing, legal research and contract interpretation.

I managed the legal aspects of data transfers and patient privacy and negotiated contracts to mitigate risk for the hospital network and align with privacy regulations. Over my time with UHN, I also led the development and implementation of the hospital network’s GDPR policy

Prior to my work experience, I completed my law degree (LLB) at Exeter University in the UK and an undergraduate degree in Political Science at McMaster University in Canada.

While my job is in contracts, my passion is in building relationships. My history managing sensitive internal stakeholders and external partners, as well as mentoring junior employees, is a testament to this and I’m looking for a new role that welcomes this skillset.

Drafting and negotiating legal agreements, including clinical trial agreements, confidentiality agreements, non-disclosure agreements, master templates, subcontracts, and collaboration agreements between the hospital network and pharmaceutical companies, CROs and other institutions.
Negotiating budgetary and payment terms of research agreements.
Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders as well as the legal and finance teams to manage investigator contracts.

Assessed the validity of warrants/production orders in accordance with statutory regulations, and compiling said evidence for use in both criminal and civil proceedings.
Answered an ‘emergency phone’ accessible only by police agencies to assess in real time exigent situations in contrast with evidentiary burdens to release customer information without direct judicial authorization.
