Graduated in 2022 as a Polymeric R&D Chemical Engineer from Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Eindhoven, I have gained extensive experience in analyzing a wide range of complex chemical challenges. I apply both theoretical and practical knowledge of chemistry to develop effective solutions that align with company objectives.
Throughout my professional journey, I have worked with various chemical compounds, including PTFE coatings, nitrogen-based systems, halogen-free flame retardants with an environmental focus, and polypropylene-glass fiber composites. My work has spanned R&D, physical testing, and analytical chemistry.
My key strengths include adaptability, a strong foundation in analytical chemistry, R&D methodologies, and mathematics. I also possess basic training in project management and leadership, and I am highly motivated to deepen my understanding of the full ink and printing process.
I approach challenges by observing and analyzing the situation, followed by designing a structured experimental plan aimed at achieving clear goals. Ultimately, I strive to deliver innovative and optimized solutions. Over the past few years, I have discovered a passion for leadership and enjoy building internal and external relationships, which has opened doors to new partnerships.
My ambition is to grow into a project lead role and eventually become a lab lead. I aim to strengthen my expertise in the ink and printing industry, starting as a Component Quality Engineer.
Quality Specialist, Sibelco Filmcom –Wessem, Netherlands In my current position, I am responsible for maintaining the quality of sieved sand based on grain size, utilizing strong analytical skills. My role includes monitoring and analyzing sand production processes, participating in audits in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards, and managing the documentation structure across the Wessem, Emmen, and Papendrecht clusters.
Through this experience, I have gained valuable insights into the importance and complexity of quality assurance. I continue to develop my understanding of quality systems and strive to contribute to continuous improvement within the organization.
As a Junior Chemical R&D Engineer, I contributed to a focused project assessing the quality and performance of PTFE coatings applied via spray coating on wires. The quality control process included testing for density, viscosity, resistivity, and particle size, alongside post-application physical tests such as scratch resistance, bending, coiling, and layer integrity.
This role introduced me to the critical role of chemistry in the medical device industry and marked the beginning of my experience in project leadership. I developed essential soft skills, including effective communication with colleagues and understanding the value of cross-departmental collaboration. I also gained insight into chemical health and safety practices, serving as assistant lead in this area.
Additionally, I learned how to manage projects effectively by applying various project management methodologies, laying the foundation for future leadership roles.
Internship Chemical R&D analyst, Brightlands Material Center – Geleen, Netherlands
This position marked my second professional experience in the polymeric R&D field, where I deepened my expertise in analytical chemistry and its practical applications. I also expanded my skills in physical chemistry by conducting tensile and Charpy impact tests, gaining hands-on experience with material performance evaluation.
During my first professional experience in the flame retardant R&D field at ADDAPT Chemicals, I discovered my passion for research and development. This role was instrumental in shaping my career path. I gained in-depth knowledge of flame retardant technologies and was given the opportunity to independently develop a custom flame retardant formulation for the company.
This experience strengthened my technical foundation and sparked my long-term interest in innovation within polymer chemistry.
