I am a senior EHS / QHSE / HSE professional with 25+ years of international experience in safety, risk and crisis management, industrial operations and complex projects. My focus is on translating risks, legislation and management-system requirements into practical measures that work in the operation.

In my current role as EHS Manager a.i. at NedZink, I developed and implemented EHS policy and protocols across the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and France. NedZink operates an industrial manufacturing process in which zinc coils are produced through continuous casting.

Previously,

I worked as Project Manager at FUENIX / Plasma Power Production. Between 2017 and 2022 I was involved in establishing an industrial-scale pilot for a gasification process in which plastic was processed into products including naphtha and paraffin.

Within this project I initiated and managed process safety, technical and safety documentation and SHEQ requirements, and I led the HAZOP for the pilot plant.

This experience gave me a strong understanding of the challenges involved in managing safety around innovative and technically complex industrial processes.

My background also includes extensive experience in risk management, crisis management and international security. I have worked in complex and high-risk environments and bring that experience into my approach to operational safety and business continuity.

I believe effective EHS management is not primarily about creating more procedures. It is about identifying the right risks, involving the people who operate the process, establishing clear controls and making sure those controls work in practice.

Ervaring

EHS Manager a.i. at NedZink BV (2024-05 – Present)

Developing and implementing EHS policy and protocols for NedZink BV, including its subsidiaries in Germany, Belgium and France.
Introduction of Risk and Crisis Management, including training the CMT for NedZink BV.
Successfully leading and completing four incident investigations following accidents involving the Labour Inspectorate.
Successful implementation of policy in the field of ZZS and other hazardous substances for NedZink.
Delivery of policy for whistleblowers and undesirable behaviour.

Developing global commercial initiatives for a waste-to-energy technology based on gasification (pyrolysis & thermolysis) in combination with Fischer Tropsch GTL (Gas to Liquid), resulting in a deal between FUENIX and DOW Chemical.
HAZOP process for (FUENIX) pilot plant led and completed.
Delivered complete set of documentation and regulations for the (FUENIX) pilot plant.
Responsible for the design and implementation of ESG and SHEQ standards in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
