As of September 2012, I have been working as a flight attendant (economy class) at Qatar Airways. After approximately 2 years and 2 months, I was promoted to flight attendant premium class, which is considered a premature promotion in comparison to regular promotional procedures within Qatar Airways. Up until August 2020, when I resigned from Qatar Airways as a consequence of the COVID19 restrictions within the aviation branch, I enjoyed working as a flight attendant as I enjoy interacting with passengers, solving any inquiries they may have and providing quality service.
My affiliation with the tourism and hospitality branch started when I was a child. My grandmother, who always emphasized the importance of greeting visitors, raised me to be a good host. I was taught that visitors should experience their stay with us as an enjoyable and comfortable one.
After finishing high school, I started a Bachelor in Nursing as – at that time – Nursing was considered to be in demand. However, soon I discovered my heart is more with hospitality and tourism, reason why I continued my passion for hospitality by taking up Bachelors in Tourism Management and International Hospitality at Saint Louis University in Baguio City, the Philippines.
After my graduation in 2011, I started working as a receptionist at Makati Shangri-La in Manilla, the Philippines. During my employment at Shangri-La, I learned how to provide quality service and enjoyed offering this to customers who are expecting a five star service. In 2012, I got the opportunity to apply for a job as flight attendant at Qatar Airways, together with more than 4,000 other applicants.
After multiple selection procedures, I was selected as suitable for a flight attendant at Qatar Airways.
As a final note, in March 2020, I passed the Dutch Basic Integration Examination (in Dutch: “Basisexamen inburgering”). As living and working in the Netherlands is part of my future plans, I am very keen on becoming fully proficient in the Dutch language and learning the cultures and values within the Dutch society. Currently, I am taking Dutch language courses and strive to complete the “Staatsexamen Nederlands als tweede taal (Nt2)” in the course of time.
For a complete overview of my experience and education, I kindly refer to my enclosed curriculum vitae. Of course, I am more than happy to elaborate on my motivation for this position in an interview.
