I am a recent graduate of the Museum Studies Master's program from the University of Amsterdam. I have experience doing provenance work and have worked with both the RCMC and the Tropenmuseum. I am able to read documents written in Dutch with little assistance and I have used both Dutch and English sources for previous research.
I began working in museums in 2018 as a curatorial intern at the Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. After the 2018 internship, I was a gallery assistant at the Eagle Spirit Gallery (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) in 2019, an archaeology research intern (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) in 2020, an exhibition collaborator and researcher at the Tropenmuseum (Amsterdam, the Netherlands and Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) from 2020 to 2021, and a research intern at the Research Center for Material Culture (Leiden, the Netherlands) in 2022.
For the last year and a half I have been a student at the University of Amsterdam undertaking the Museum Studies Master's program. During this program we learned how to research and curate museum collections. These skills were actualized during my internship at the RCMC where I did provenance research on the W.O.
Oldman collection which was published in the NMVW's magazine “Provenance” in their third volume. Prior to my internship, my fellow students and I were tasked with creating a mini exhibition at the Allard Pierson which showcased a shabti of the Nubian king Senkamanisken. For the shabti exhibition I was in charge of the provenance for the object and was able to trace the shabti back to its point of collection.
