Freelancer since 2007, specializing in test automation, DevOps and cloud. After my last project (through 06/2025) I took a deliberate break — travel, family, conferences (BaselOne, Agile Testing Days, W-JAX, TechRiders Festival) and earning the ISTQB-GenAI certification. Now fully available again!
My professional focus is on test automation, DevOps and cloud, with more than 20 years of experience across various software development roles (implementation, test & integration, operations). With the rise of agile methods, automation and cloud adoption became a core part of my work. Going forward, my focus remains on development and automation in a cloud context.

Project: Product catalog / nutrient balance calculator. Contributed to development and test automation of a product catalog with an integrated nutrient balance calculator for farmers (emissions calculation), built on Quarkus/Jakarta EE. Full-stack development: WebComponents UI (Lit) frontend, business logic and data model (MSSQL/Flyway) backend, containerization (Docker) and operations on Red Hat OpenShift.
Test automation with JUnit, Selenium, Cucumber and KarateDSL (API tests), BDD test scenarios, reporting via Xray and Cucumber reports.
Software Development Engineer in Test - Federal Agency (Switzerland) - Switzerland

Project: Vehicle registration and driving license office. Test automation for two related applications in vehicle registration and driving licenses. Set up new test infrastructure for one application; migrated existing test cases from the related application (Spring Boot backend, GWT frontend).
Designed and rebuilt the test tool framework incl. reporting (Xray, Tm4J, Zephyr Scale, Allure). Migrated 400+ acceptance tests (E2E/SOAP/REST). UI test automation against GWT with Selenium/Selenide, containerized browser grid (Selenoid/Docker), integration tests with Testcontainers.

Project: Real estate platform. Test automation for a real estate platform in the financial sector, built modularly by six parallel development teams (Spring Boot backend/React frontend). Evaluated and set up the central test tool framework incl. reporting (Xray, Allure). Automated UI tests (Selenium/Selenide/Selenoid) and unit/integration tests (JUnit). Set up the CI/CD infrastructure (Bamboo/TeamCity).
