Susan Corrigan

I am a British teacher, born and raised in England and I have taught English as a second language in the Netherlands for the past ten years. I have a bachelor’s degree in teaching English as a second language obtained in 2014 from the University of Amsterdam.

I will be living in Hong Kong from December 2023  as I am visiting my daughter and baby grandson. She lives in Kennedy Town, Hong Kong Island and since I have been visiting her, I have really fallen in love with Hong Kong.

My passions are teaching and travel, finding a vacancy in a Hong Kong School would be a fantastic experience to fulfil both.

Currently, I am teaching in the lower school of a highly regarded bi-lingual Dutch/English) secondary school in the Netherlands, although I also have very recent experience of teaching younger children in a primary school setting in India (2022) and France and Bhutan (2017). I am experienced in working with different cultures, I have helped set up the Global Citizenship curriculum at my current school. I am very patient, especially with children.

My personal goal is to create a learning environment where children feel happy and relaxed so that they have the confidence to speak English and to enjoy learning the language.

I have a bachelor’s degree in teaching English as a second language obtained in 2014 from the University of Amsterdam. I have certificates from numerous International CLIL courses (Content and Integrated Language Learning), which is particularly applicable for teaching English in an International setting. My most recent course was in the summer of 2023, in Bologna, Italy.
