Vickey Goh

Hello! My name is Vickey Goh, I am a recent graduate from the University of Amsterdam with a degree in Media & Culture. While having just ended my 3 months internship at ZOO Magazine as a graphic design Intern and a season 3 participant of PlusPlus One’s 6-months intensive program, I am now in search of a position to help develop and sharpen my skills as a professional.

Since I had the opportunity to learn and develop skills in the designing and advertising/production world – having to design layouts for ZOO's #77 winter issue to direct a 30-second commercial for Bol.com; my skills are not limited to designing but also applicable in the film industry, which is primarily what I am deeply passionate about when it comes to expressing my creativity. As I am now exiting the academic world and stepping into the working field, I am exploring the depths of my ability and opportunities for a start in the film industry.

Content creation through videography, design, and photography has always been part of my life and my passions; when I first came across your company, I was ecstatic to realise my modest achievements may be of your requirements for this company. I had many great openings to learn about this industry, I worked with a small team of young creatives as a media & content creator to start our Malaysian Student Association from scratch; which has now garnered the recognition of the Malaysian Embassy as well as connecting Malaysian individuals all around the Netherlands.

Not only that, one of the more memorable works I have done was the opportunity that allowed me to work closely with professional videographers, lights, and production workers to see what it is like being in this field when it came to the production of Bol.com’s commercial. Being the director of the production, I was able to fully immerse myself in the entire process from pre-production all the way to post-production; even having the opportunity to assist in editing the end scene of the commercial. Furthermore, I was able to take on the director/videographer/video editor role for a short documentary in collaboration with the Malaysian Embassy and the Malaysian Association in the Netherlands.

With 2 graphic design internships with The Best Social and ZOO Magazine, the hands-on experience of directing a short commercial for Bol.com during the intensive 6 months program of PlusPlus One, curating, creating, and help founded the Malaysian Students Council in The Netherlands with 6 peers that is now recognised by the Embassy of Malaysia in The Hague under my belt; I utilised my creativity through content creation, videography and directing for documentaries and short films commissioned by the Embassy, and edited short videos for social media.

I have achieved a Bachelor's Degree of Arts in Media and Culture from the Universiteit van Amsterdam.
