I have practical experience in commercial sow farming in Germany, and previous dairy farming experience in the Philippines. My current role as an Agricultural Trainee on a commercial sow farm in Germany has strengthened my knowledge of biosecurity, animal welfare, sanitation, and efficient farm operations. Every day, I assist in maintaining a healthy environment for livestock by cleaning and disinfecting animal housing using pressure washers, monitoring the health of sows and piglets, assisting with farrowing, and supporting vaccination and treatment procedures under veterinary supervision.
Before moving to Germany, I worked on a dairy farm in the Philippines, where I operated mechanical milking equipment, assisted with calving, maintained farm hygiene, monitored animal health, and kept accurate production records. Working with different types of livestock has made me adaptable, physically resilient, and comfortable performing demanding farm duties in all weather conditions.
These responsibilities have taught me the importance of attention to detail, disease prevention, and maintaining high standards of animal care—skills that are directly transferable to any type of farming.
