I am a qualified science teacher by profession and i have been teaching in Zimbabwe, South Africa and the UK for a combined 30 years. I worked in factories in the UK for a year in different roles before taking up Support work as my full -time career. I underwent several short training courses in health-related areas.
I worked for 2 years with young people living with disabilities, helping them to lead a normal and happy life. I then relocated to New Zealand in March 2024 together with my whole family. I am currently not formally employed but i am helping with part-time teaching in a local school.
I love working with disadvantaged people and everybody else to live a happy life.
I worked for a company called Cascade Care services in UK, in a city called Norwich. I have worked most of my life as a High school science teacher until when i moved to the UK in 2021. I was introduced to support work and i loved it instantly.
I love meeting challenges and providing solutions. I worked with young people, i planned their day-to-day routine including their personal care needs. I was the main driver in the company i worked for, taking the residents for different appointments and activities.
My strength lies in willingness to learn and time-keeping, as well as making sure duties are completed professionally.
I did my high school education in Zimbabwe before going for a Bachelor's degree in education (in Cuba, in Latin America) at a university called Enrique Jose Varona. I completed a diploma at NCC college in the UK, dealing with people living disabilities, ( Special Educational Needs and disabilities). I completed several short courses related to support work, especially people living with disabilities.
Examples of the courses include, Autism, First Aid, Fire and hazards, handling and moving, Skills for Care and Health, Safe guarding adults, Epilepsy, Medicine management, among others.
