About
My doctoral research examines how policy, schools and external sport providers shape children's physical education in China, and how responsibility for PE is being redistributed between teachers and coaches. I combine policy analysis, interviews and surveys, and have published on AI in health education and on physical activity among university students. Drawing on prior work as a primary PE teacher and community yoga studio founder, I seek to develop sociocultural research on youth sport, physical activity, wellbeing and belonging, including the roles of gender, community and migration, with a cross-cultural lens (China, Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand).
