I envisage making a significant difference as a primary leader. I have extensive experience as a primary teacher, a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and a primary curriculum leader

I would like to take the next step in my career. I have successfully completed a master's degree in educational leadership at the University of Essex and I would like an opportunity to implement what I have learnt and researched. In my thesis I researched the transitioning from primary to secondary school mathematics and how it can improve student achievement.

I am a firm believer in the growth mindset principles and its effect on student achievement. It has formed an integral part of my thesis and I have successfully implemented it in my classroom practice both implicitly and explicitly. I have noticed that this is also part of the school’s culture and is one of the reasons for my application for the position.

I am currently an English as an Additional Language (EAL) teacher at the French International School in Muscat. The position has provided me with benefits such as enhancing my classroom practice and implementing stages of the Accelerated Learning Cycle (ALC) such as preparation, connecting the topic, presenting the topic creatively, activating new skills and reflection.

Most importantly it has helped to develop my personal leadership qualities such as building trust with colleagues quickly as new staff member, having a greater impact on students' learning by being more practical, inspiring students and other staff to be more creative and influencing colleagues to improve teaching practice. I also lead by example regarding student behavior management.
