Dr. Wajih Abbassi is an Assistant professor at Muscat University (Oman). He holds two PhD, one in
Management (Major in Finance) from the Université de Paris-Est-Créteil, France (2022), and one in
Finance from the University of Carthage, Tunisia (2011). He taught at Mahdia University (Tunisia),
Kairouan University (Tunisia), and Qassim University (Saudi Arabia) before joining Muscat University
(Oman). Dr. Abbassi's research interests cover corporate governance, capital structure, debt choice, sustainability, and derivatives. Dr. Abbassi is also the MSc Finance programme coordinator at Muscat University, after having been the director of the under-graduate finance programme, member of the AASCB accreditation committee, and member of the AoL committee at Qassim University (KSA). He has an interdisciplinary scope with publications in 2* and
3* journals.

• As the MSc Finance programme's coordinator, collaborate in designing courses syllabi,
and participate to the assessment and the regular update of the programme.

• As the director of the finance undergraduate programme, work with faculty, chairs,
and other program directors to create the measuring instruments, collect assessment data, meet with faculty to discuss the data, and suggest actions to improve students'
learning.
