Job Title: Cloud Engineering Lead
Location: Ortigas, Pasig, PH
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM PH Time (Hybrid | 3x Onsite, 2x WFH)
Position Overview
Experienced Cloud Engineering Lead to oversee the design, implementation, and management of cloud platforms across Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Lead a team of cloud engineers, drive cloud strategy, ensure operational excellence, and deliver scalable, secure, and cost-optimized cloud solutions that align with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Strategy
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of cloud engineers and architects.
- Define and execute the enterprise cloud strategy across Azure and OCI platforms.
- Collaborate with IT leadership, architecture, and security teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals and compliance standards.
- Drive automation, DevOps, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) initiatives for consistent and efficient cloud operations.
- Cloud Architecture & Engineering
- Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-grade cloud solutions in Azure and OCI environments.
- Oversee migration of workloads, databases, and applications from on-premises or other clouds to Azure and OCI.
- Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and disaster recovery configurations across environments.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and observability frameworks.
- Governance, Security & Compliance
- Enforce governance models, cost management frameworks, and tagging standards across cloud environments.
- Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to implement best practices in identity management, access control, encryption, and compliance.
- Ensure adherence to industry regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, etc.) and internal IT policies.
- Operations & Optimization
- Monitor system health, optimize cloud spend, and improve resource utilization.
- Manage incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for critical cloud services.
- Work with vendors and managed service providers for support, escalation, and optimization opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorʼs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8 years of experience in cloud engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or team lead capacity.
- Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) at an enterprise scale.
- Strong knowledge of cloud networking, hybrid connectivity (VPN, ExpressRoute, FastConnect), and identity management (Azure AD, IAM).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates, Ansible).
- Familiarity with DevOps tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- Deep understanding of containerization and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, AKS, OKE).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Professional
- Terraform Associate, CKA, or equivalent DevOps/Cloud certifications
- Experience managing multi-cloud or hybrid environments.
- Background in financial governance of cloud resources (FinOps).
- Exposure to data platform services, analytics, or cloud-native application development
