Job description

Full-Stack Developer

Remote | Philippines | Full-Time | Long-Term

₱120,000–₱180,000 PHP per month, depending on experience and technical ability.

About Willow Processing

Willow Processing is a fast-growing U.S.-based mortgage operations company supporting hundreds of mortgage professionals across the country. Over the past six years, we've built a highly automated internal technology ecosystem that powers nearly every part of our business—from workflow management and operations to reporting, communications, payroll processes, and integrations with third-party platforms.

Much of that infrastructure was originally built using low-code technologies such as Knack and Make. Now we're entering the next stage. We're migrating our core internal systems into a custom codebase hosted on Render, and we're looking for a talented Full-Stack Developer to help us build it.

The Opportunity

This isn't a role maintaining marketing websites or building features that nobody uses. You'll be writing software that hundreds of people depend on to do their jobs every day.

You'll work directly with our Business Systems Engineer, who owns the architecture, workflows, and business requirements behind our systems. Together, you'll take processes that currently run through Knack, Make, APIs, and other platforms and rebuild them into scalable, maintainable software. You'll also build new tools, integrations, and functionality as the company grows.

We care much more about strong engineering fundamentals and problem-solving ability than whether you've previously worked in the mortgage industry.

What You'll Work On

You'll help us

  • Migrate functionality from Knack and Make into our custom application
  • Build and maintain backend APIs
  • Develop internal web applications and user interfaces
  • Design and work with relational databases
  • Build integrations with third-party APIs
  • Create and consume webhooks
  • Translate existing business workflows into maintainable code
  • Troubleshoot production issues and integration failures
  • Improve performance, reliability, and observability
  • Write tests and documentation
  • Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions
  • Build new internal tools as our business continues to scale
Some projects will be completely new. Others will involve looking at an existing low-code workflow, understanding why it exists and what business problem it solves, and determining the best way to reproduce or improve it in code.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a developer with strong fundamentals in modern full-stack development. You should be comfortable with most of the following:
  • JavaScript / TypeScript
  • Node.js
  • React
  • Next.js
  • REST APIs
  • JSON
  • SQL
  • PostgreSQL or another relational database
  • Git / GitHub
  • Authentication and authorization
  • API integrations
  • Webhooks
  • Debgging production applications
  • n8n, Make, Zapier, Knack, Airtable or other automation platforms
  • AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar
Who Will Do Well Here You might be a great fit if:
  • You're naturally curious about how systems work
  • You enjoy understanding the business problem behind the code
  • You can work independently without needing every step prescribed
  • You care about writing understandable, maintainable software
  • You enjoy debugging almost as much as building
  • You're comfortable working in an environment that moves quickly
  • You ask questions when requirements don't make sense
  • You'd rather implement a simple solution that works than an unnecessarily complicated one
  • You take ownership when something you've built breaks
We're especially interested in developers who enjoy working close to the business rather than being one engineer among hundreds inside a large engineering organization. Why Join Willow?

This is an unusual opportunity for a developer. You're joining at the moment we're transitioning from a successful low-code architecture into a modern software platform. That means you'll get to work on: real users + real scale + real business problems + a significant modernization project. You'll have substantial influence over the systems you build without the bureaucracy of a large engineering organization.
