ROLE SUMMARY The Full Stack Python Developer will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of web applications and data infrastructure within a collaborative, Agile engineering team. Working primarily with Python and Django, the role spans both backend API development and data lake integration for an analytics-focused platform.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain web applications using Python and Django, writing clean, scalable, and well-documented code.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs for integration with external systems and third-party services.
- Contribute to the design and build of data lake infrastructure supporting analytics web applications.
- Collaborate with product owners, stakeholders, and cross-functional engineering teams within an Agile delivery framework.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise application performance; document processes and procedures in JIRA and Confluence.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Solid hands-on experience with Python and Django in a professional development environment.
- Proficiency in HTML5, JavaScript, and TypeScript; familiarity with a front-end framework such as React or Angular.
- Working knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and SQL.
- Exposure to AWS or other cloud-based development environments.
- Familiarity with containerisation tools (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI, AWS CDK/CloudFormation, or Terraform).
- Exposure to data engineering tools such as Pandas, dbt, Apache Airflow, Dagster, AWS Redshift, or Snowflake is advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (preferred).
