We are a U.S.-based cybersecurity and compliance technology company building a next-generation Security-Driven Compliance Platform. Our solution unifies security monitoring, automation, and compliance workflows into a single, scalable platform designed for small and mid-sized organizations.

As we continue to grow, we are expanding our backend development team and seeking a Junior Backend Engineer who is eager to learn, contribute, and develop their skills within a structured, security-focused SaaS environment.

## Role Background

As a Junior Backend Engineer, you will support the development of backend features, API integrations, database performance improvements, and DevOps-related activities across our production and development environments.

You will collaborate closely with senior engineers and product leadership to build secure, scalable, and reliable backend services.

This is a growth-focused role that includes mentorship and a clear pathway toward a mid-level engineering position.

## Primary Responsibilities & Expectations

• Develop and maintain backend services using PHP (Laravel preferred)
• Design, implement, and maintain relational databases (MySQL/MariaDB)
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs
• Assist with database schema design and query optimization
• Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
• Work with Docker-based development environments
• Participate in code reviews and adhere to secure coding practices
• Troubleshoot production issues with guidance from senior engineers
• Create clear and thorough technical documentation

## Requirements

• 1–3 years of professional experience with PHP
• Working knowledge of the Laravel framework
• Strong understanding of relational databases (MySQL or MariaDB)
• Basic understanding of REST API design and integration
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative workflows
• Basic knowledge of Linux server environments
• Experience working in remote or distributed teams
• Strong written English communication skills

• Experience with Docker and containerized environments
• Familiarity with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, load balancers)
• Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions)
• Experience developing SaaS applications
