OpsWerks is a technical consulting company specializing in operational services for the high-tech industry. We help platform and infrastructure teams operate multi-cloud environments, execute complex migrations, and enable seamless app deployments.

Your Role

As a Senior IT / DevOps Engineer you are expected to ensure high system availability, performance, and security across both on‑premises and cloud environments. This role blends traditional IT operations with modern DevOps practices, supporting cloud infrastructure, SaaS platforms, and internal applications while driving automation and continuous improvement.

You will work closely with engineering, operations, and business teams to troubleshoot incidents, maintain reliable systems, and evolve our infrastructure and delivery pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

System Reliability, Performance &

  • Security

  • Lead the administration, design, and optimization of enterprise IT infrastructure

  • Maintain high availability, optimized performance, capacity planning, disaster recovery readiness, and a strong security posture across on‑premises and cloud environments

  • Troubleshoot incidents and provide advanced support for IT infrastructure and applications

  • Monitor systems proactively and respond to operational issues and outages

  • Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats

  • Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions.

  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and post-incident reviews.

  • Drive continuous optimization of systems and processes.

Cloud &

  • Infrastructure Management

  • Support and maintain AWS cloud environments, including EC2, S3, IAM, networking, and security policies

  • Administer and maintain applications across development, staging, and production environments

  • Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform (AzureRM provider preferred), AWS CloudFormation, or Azure ARM Templates / Bicep

Office 365 Administration

  • Administer and manage Office 365 services including:

  • Exchange Online

  • SharePoint Online

  • Microsoft Teams

  • OneDrive

  • Security and compliance features

  • Support user access, policies, configurations, and ongoing platform improvements

Application &

  • Operational Support

  • Provide support for in‑house applications, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and system monitoring

  • Collaborate with development teams to resolve environment and deployment issues

  • Maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures

CI/CD, Automation &

  • DevOps Practices

  • Maintain and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines

  • Implement automation for testing, builds, deployments, and release management

  • Use tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Ansible to reduce manual operational work

  • Promote DevOps best practices across teams

Your Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience as an IT Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Systems Administrator, or System Engineer in an enterprise IT infrastructure

  • Hands‑on expertise with Linux systems and administration

  • Extensive hands‑on experience administering Office 365 E3, including Azure, Exchange Online, and SharePoint

  • Experience supporting and operating cloud environments (AWS and/or Azure)

  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting;

    experience with Bash or Python is a strong advantage

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and an operational mindset

  • Working knowledge of Git for version control

  • Experience with Kubernetes and containerized workloads

  • Strong knowledge of networking, firewalls, DNS, VPN, and enterprise security.

  • Experience in mentoring IT and DevOps engineers to elevate technical capabilities and confidence.

  • Ability to work in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment

  • Adaptable and forward‑thinking, with the ability to perform technology research and POC testing to improve IT processes

Plus Points If You Have

  • Experience with AWS and other cloud platforms

  • Practical experience with:

    • Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure IaC tools

    • Git, Docker, and Kubernetes

    • GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Ansible

    • Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Graylog

    • Experience operating production systems with monitoring, alerting, and logging

  • Cloud certifications, such as:

    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect

    • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator

    • Azure Administrator Associate

    • Or equivalent cloud certification

    • Experience in MacOS
