Senior Java Developer

Role Description This position is responsible for implementing complex Java backend solutions for enterprise-level web applications. This role is expected to build and optimize small to very large implementations with little to no outside guidance using current industry standards, ensuring their applications are efficient and meet stakeholders’ expectations, and ensuring their applications are compliant with all company security and privacy policies.
Responsibilities Develop and support complex applications, acting as the SME for technical concerns
Participate in team meetings and planning sessions, providing relevant feedback and guidance to ensure technical solutions meet business expectations and conform to policy guidelines and industry standards
Mentor and assist junior developers as needed
When necessary, act as a Lead for development efforts where more junior developers are also assigned or are assisting Requirements Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related work experience
8+ years’ commercial or enterprise large scale web application and implementation, specifically Java 8+
5+ years’ development and implementation of Web Services and/or Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
5+ years’ experience with REST API and API development platforms
5+ years’ experience in Spring (Spring Boot, Spring Security), Hibernate, and JPA
Working knowledge of relational databases (Oracle) and database design
Experience in development tools (Eclipse, IntelliJ, Maven, Jenkins) and applications platforms
Familiarity with JavaScript/React preferred
Experience with Continuous Integration practices
Excellent documentation and knowledge transfer skills
Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
Ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities
