Senior Java Software Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Java Software Engineer to join our talented team at SPi Global (now Straive) in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Metro Manila. This full-time position is an exciting opportunity to take on a key role within our Information & Communication Technology division, working as a developer/programmer. You will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining complex software applications that are crucial to the success of our organisation.

What you'll be doing

• Design, develop and implement robust, scalable and maintainable Java-based software applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse requirements, identify solutions and deliver high-quality software
• Write clean, efficient and well-documented code adhering to best practices and coding standards
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including architecture, design, development, testing and deployment
• Continuously research and implement new technologies, frameworks and methodologies to improve software quality and efficiency
• Mentor and provide guidance to more junior members of the engineering team
• Proactively identify and resolve technical issues and bottlenecks

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of proven experience as a Java software engineer, preferably in a similar role
• Extensive knowledge of Java programming language, frameworks (e.g. Spring, Hibernate) and design patterns
• Strong proficiency in software architecture, design, development and testing methodologies
• Familiar with Agile/Scrum development practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
