What can you expect in a Technical Manager role with TaskUs:

The Technical Manager is the hands-on owner of site-wide capture rig availability, physical hardware upkeep, and operational discipline at the facility. Rather than managing a team, this role focuses directly on technical site management: maintaining equipment, overseeing task-prop inventory and scene resets, and bridging the gap between the physical stage and the software pipeline. You will be directly responsible for executing hardware maintenance, supporting software setups via SOPs, and ensuring captured data meets quality checklists before leaving the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hardware & Rig Uptime: Execute hands-on maintenance, sensor mounting, cable management, and hardware integration across all site capture rigs.
  • Site Operations & Logistics: Maintain daily rig readiness, manage task-prop inventory and consumables, and establish/enforce strict scene-reset standards on the stage.
  • Software & Setup Support: Follow established SOPs to assist with local software environment configuration, system updates, tool setup, and basic troubleshooting across capture nodes.
  • Data Quality Handoff: Coordinate directly with the client’s data pipeline team, using provided checklists and tools to verify that captured data meets required formats and quality standards before off-site transfer.

Required Qualifications:

  • Practical experience in hands-on technical operations, lab management, AV fleet maintenance, motion capture, or high-tech production environments.
  • Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage physical inventory, track logistics, and enforce operational SOPs independently.
  • High comfort level with computer hardware assembly, cable routing, sensor mounting, and basic technical troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with navigating technical environments (e.g., Windows/Linux CLI basics, basic networking), or a strong willingness to learn on the job.

Education / Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
