Web Developer
Job description
Clarvida is seeking a Web Developer who will serve as the technical owner of Clarvida.com and related digital properties. This role requires expertise in WordPress development, CMS architecture, front-end and back-end coding, UX structure, technical SEO, analytics implementation, and cross-functional collaboration.
The developer will be responsible for designing, building, enhancing, and maintaining a scalable, secure, and high-performing web ecosystem. This includes strategic planning, technical implementation, and continuous optimization. The role requires initiative, problem-solving, and the ability to recommend and implement best practice solutions.
Key Responsibilities
WordPress Development & Technical Ownership
Architect, build, and maintain the WordPress environment, including custom themes, templates, reusable components, and structured content systems.
Develop front-end and back-end functionality using PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related tools.
Implement performance optimizations, Core Web Vitals improvements, caching logic, and site speed enhancements.
Evaluate plugins, manage integrations, and develop custom solutions when needed.
Maintain site security, updates, patches, and version control processes.
UX Structure & Design Implementation
Develop information architecture, page structures, user flows, and layout frameworks aligned with business and user needs.
Implement responsive, accessible, and brand-consistent experiences across devices.
Translate design files into production-quality front-end experiences in the CMS.
Technical SEO & Analytics
Implement and maintain technical SEO, including URL structures, metadata, schema, redirects, indexing rules, and structural optimization.
Configure Google Tag Manager, analytics tracking, event logic, and integrations with ATS or third-party tools.
Conduct periodic audits to improve search visibility, performance, and data accuracy.
Integrations, Infrastructure & Cross-Team Collaboration
Work with IT on hosting, DNS, certificates, environments, data flows, and infrastructure requirements.
Implement API integrations, forms, and system connections.
Provide technical guidance and clear communication to Marketing, Creative, IT, and U.S.-based teams.
Contribute to technical planning for Website 2.0 and future digital initiatives.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
Monitor emerging trends in WordPress, PHP, JavaScript frameworks, SEO, performance optimization, and UX best practices.
Recommend enhancements that strengthen site stability, scalability, and user experience.
Maintain documentation of structures, processes, and standards.
Qualifications
Required
Proven experience as a full-stack or advanced WordPress developer managing complex, content-rich websites.
Deep knowledge of WordPress core, custom themes, custom post types, taxonomies, and structured content systems.
Strong proficiency in PHP, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, CSS/SASS, and front-end frameworks.
Experience implementing and maintaining technical SEO and analytics tracking.
Ability to design and build UX structures, including wireframes, sitemaps, layout systems, and page-level architectures.
Experience working with GTM, analytics, APIs, and third-party integrations.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Ability to make recommendations, propose solutions, and take ownership of technical decisions.
Preferred
Experience with Git or other version control systems.
Experience managing hosting, environments, and DNS configurations.
Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG).
Exposure to healthcare, nonprofit, or mission-driven sectors.
