I'm a Solar PV Design Engineer with over five years of experience working across residential, commercial, and utility-scale solar projects. My background covers the full project cycle — from initial site assessment and system design through to installation coordination, preventive maintenance, and performance reporting. I've worked with US residential permit plan sets as well as local Philippine projects, and I'm comfortable with tools like Aurora Solar, Helioscope, AutoCAD, and Scanifly.

I try to deliver work that's technically sound, clearly documented, and aligned with what clients actually need. On the side, I teach engineering subjects at TUP Manila, which keeps me grounded in the fundamentals.

Project Coordinator Engineer at Ascent Energy (2025-08 – Present)

• Handle end-to-end project coordination and design for commercial and utility-scale solar projects — from the first site survey all the way through commissioning.
• Do the actual system design work myself: site layout planning, and review the full proposal drawing packages for clients.
• Review and check BOMs submitted by our EPC partners, making sure quantities, equipment specs, and material selections are accurate before we move forward.
• Supervise project execution on site — I'm hands-on during installation, not just remote. This includes overseeing civil, electrical, and mechanical works and flagging issues early.
• Conduct site surveys personally and develop designs directly from field measurements, so what we build matches what's on the ground.
• Serve as the main point of contact between clients, EPC contractors, the design team, and management throughout the whole project lifecycle.
• Prepare cost-saving analyses and design alternatives where relevant, and present these clearly to clients and stakeholders.

PV Design Engineer at First Power Solar Inc. (2025-05 – 2025-08)

• Handled proposal drawings for commercial and utility-scale projects in the Philippines — from verifying site survey data through layout planning, system design, bill of materials, and client presentations.
• Contributed to projects totalling 3 MW in capacity, with individual designs going up to 628 kWp.
• Walked clients through proposed designs before installation to make sure everything was clear and agreed upon.
• Revised designs as needed based on client feedback and conditions found on site.

PV Permit Design Engineer 2 at Trismart Solar – Solution CX (2024-03 – 2024-07)

• Produced US residential permit plan sets from scratch — site plans, roof layouts, mechanical racking, single-line diagrams, and electrical calculations.
• Used Scanifly and Aurora Solar to assess sites remotely, pulling in site photos for accurate 3D models and shading analysis.
• Drew up AutoCAD construction drawings to NEC and local AHJ standards.
• Turned around plan check corrections and revisions quickly to avoid delays on permit submissions.

PV Designer 2 at Sunrun – DVE Group of Companies (2022-09 – 2024-03)

• Designed PV layouts for US residential projects using Aurora Solar, producing full plan sets including site plans, racking diagrams, SLDs, and electrical calculations.
• Managed BOMs and project timelines across a high volume of concurrent residential jobs.
• Tracked project status and workflow in Salesforce across multiple concurrent designs.
• Made sure all drawings met NEC requirements and AHJ-specific rules for fire setbacks and interconnection across different US jurisdictions.

PV Engineer & Asset Custodian at Phil Nippon Kyoyei – Exergy Phils Corp (2024-09 – 2025-05)

• Ran preventive maintenance schedules for assigned solar power plants and tracked energy performance against targets.
• Identified and implemented process changes that reduced project costs by around 20%.
• Put together and presented weekly executive reports on plant status and operational health.
• Managed asset inventory — warehouse audits, stock conversions, material requests, and disposals — with proper documentation throughout.
