Jane Pastrana

I am a graduate of Social Sciences and a licensed professional teacher and with a Master Degree in Human Resource Management. I am very much interested because the requirements of the position match my experience in the government service and aligned with my interests and vision for a public service. I have more than two years of dedicated service in the government and 13 years as a home-based ESL tutor.

I am into reading fiction and non-fiction books, watching documentaries and sports, and playing sports.

I am dedicated, shy sometimes but knows to speak up and stand up for what is right, and has leadership capabilities as well as a good follower.

I have worked for 13 years as a home-based ESL tutor and public service for more than two years.

I've worked with Japanese professionals to improve their English language capabilities. I was trained to provide General and Business English classes. I consistently received Good Tutor Awards as a testament of my skills and dedication to the field.

In terms of government work, I've worked in the Learning and Development Section as an Administrative Assistant for 10 months. This experience enhanced my knowledge and advanced my skills in using MS Word and Excel, proper record management and preparation of communications, effective coordination with internal personnel and external parties, and strict adherence to ISO standards and organization policies. I was promoted and handled the Employee Support as an Administrative Officer II.

In my six month-stay in this position, my technical skills in writing were polished through preparations of project proposals, Memorandum of Agreements, documentations of activities/ meetings, and reports of conducted activities. My facilitation skills both online and face to face continue to improve which is deemed useful when catering services to personnel.

I moved to another government agency as an Administrative Officer II and I handled the recruitment and selection of this start-up agency and then promoted as a Project Evaluation Officer II. This position entails me to implement monitoring and evaluation activities for assigned programs and projects, conducts field-based data collection and validation, analyzes results, and prepares reports to ensure efficient, effective, and compliant project implementation.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences (major in Social Anthropology and minor in Psychology) degree at the University of the Philippines- Baguio in 2009. My interest with the study of people as individuals, communities, and societies and their behaviors and interactions intensified because of this.

To advance my knowledge on human resources, I pursued and finished my graduate studies, Human Resource Management, at the Benguet State University-Open University in the year 2014. I took Professional Teaching Certificate at the University of the Philippines-Open University in 2018 and passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers last March 19, 2019.
