• Contributed to a multi-service NestJS backend covering CRM, billing, authentication, quotation, and AI communication workflows. Services were kept separate to simplify deployments and make it easier to debug issues in isolation
• Handled the migration from Supabase Edge Functions to a NestJS backend, which involved rewriting existing Deno functions, setting up new routes and middleware, and updating the client apps to point to the new endpoints
• Built out the CRM module: deal stages, contact management, and webhook-based integration with VAPI for inbound and outbound AI call handling. Spent a fair bit of time debugging webhook payloads and working through edge cases in the VAPI docs
• Worked on the quotation service: quote creation, invoice generation, basic tax calculations, and a feature that suggests line items using an LLM prompt based on job description input
• Implemented direct-to-S3 file uploads using presigned URLs, removing file routing from the API server. This resolved upload failures we were seeing with larger files and reduced unnecessary load on the backend
• Wrote and maintained GitHub Actions pipelines for all services, added Dependency Cruiser checks to enforce import rules between modules, which caught a few cross-domain issues before they merged
• Provisioned and managed VPS servers for AU-region deployment, containerised services with Docker, and set up Dokploy for deployments with per-developer access controls
• Replaced a mix of manually applied Supabase schema changes with version-controlled migration files, which made it easier to track what changed and reproduce the environment
• Used BullMQ and Redis to handle background jobs, including a cron-based runner for outbound follow-up tasks tied to the AI agent workflow
