Mico Acosta

I am an aspiring animal production graduate from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. Born in La Union and raised in Baguio City, I had experiences in raising poultry at a young age in backyard farming, enhanced by the technical knowledge I've learned during my stay at my alma mater. As a fresh graduate, I am determined to learn more about the animal production industry as I am driven, goal-oriented, cooperative, and passionate about the things I put my hands on.

• Learned the management of parent broiler breeder stocks during its growing phase
• Learned and experienced the system of biosecurity management of broiler breeder operation such as vaccination of the flock based on their age, pest control management, and biosecurity measures for the people inside and coming outside of the farm and vehicles entering the farm
• Applied the feeding management of the flock based on their age requirements
• Learned to sort the flock based on their liveweight to ensure feed efficiency across houses
• Learned to communicate and send problems to the farm manager and flockmen about the things we observed during the operation
