Role Description This is a contract remote Android Developer role focused on building and enhancing the Proposal mobile app on the Android platform.

The Android

Developer will collaborate with product and design teams to implement new features, refine existing user interfaces, and ensure consistent performance and reliability. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean and efficient code, integrating APIs and backend services, debugging and resolving issues, and optimizing the app for various devices and screen sizes. The role also involves participating in code reviews, contributing to technical documentation, and staying current with Android best practices and emerging technologies. The developer will work closely with a diverse team to deliver a seamless and engaging user experience for Proposal’s global user base.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Mobile Application Development and experience building Mobile Applications for Android.
• Proficiency in Android Development and Android Design, including modern UI patterns and responsive layouts.
• Solid foundation in Software Development principles, including object-oriented programming, testing, and version control.
• Hands-on experience with Kotlin and/or Java, Android SDK, Android Studio, and RESTful API integration.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, and to participate in collaborative code reviews.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote, part-time environment.
• Effective communication skills and comfort working with a diverse, distributed team.
• Relevant post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with performance optimization, analytics integration, and publishing apps to the Play Store is an asset.
